I would lightly scuff with a grey scotch brite, wipe with wax n grease remover, wipe with a tach cloth or at least blow off then paint,3-4 light coats then maybe 1-2 med coats(not necessary)

I've seen where someone sprayed several coats of filler primer, sanded it smooth, covered with sealer primer then used body-color paint and clear. Looked REALLY nice!

I used bondo restore black, it is like a gel with a really black pigment in it. Looks awesome imo.

I just painted mine last weekend. i removed everything, scrubbed it clean with some rubbing alcohol and painted the cowel, wiper arms, and covers with a satin black and it looks amazing. Now i just have to find out how it holds up to the TX sun, but a friend did his about a year ago and it still looks good.

I painted mine with Krylon Fusion and it faded pretty bad.

I am going to try a good prep and re-paint now that its warmer and see how it holds up.

How do you remove the cowl on a TA? The wiper arms have to come off right? I heard that can be a b*tch.

Yeah it can. Just pop off the wiper arm covers, remove nut. I use a flathead screwdriver to help pry off the wiper - its pressed on. Just be careful not to hit and crack your windshield.

There is a wiper arm remover tool you can buy from your local auto parts store, but I hear that it does not work too well for our cars.

Wrong on the screwdriver! You'll only cause damage. Take the nut off and use a regular claw hammer to lightly tap the bolt while lifting up on the wiper arm. No hard smacks.

OR... take the nut off, lift the arm, get a good grip and yank like you're jerking it off... one or two good jerks is all it takes

I agree with the man with the awesome avatar. Wiggle the arm a little between hammer hits. I found out that mine was already loose but wasn't sliding off because I was pulling on the arm at a bit of an angle. I was still smacking away with the hammer, finally I stopped and wiggled the arm and it slid right off.
