Default Another removal of sail panel success story.

Me and a buddy of mine went to anothers buddies house yesterday to see if we could remove the sail panel off his junk 95 firebird. My buddy wanted a few parts of the car so while he removed what he wanted i worked on the panel. Long story short me and my buddy tried the wire saw and it broke 3 times on me with lil results. He was afriad of breaking the panel so I went at it by myself. The panel has 3 small spot of damage on it that was there before we started it on the removal.

These 2 are of the same spot.

This is in the middle of the panel beside the drivers side t-top.

These are on the other side of the panel

Tools used to remove the panel, (not pictured- wire saw, and hood release cable )

I know the pics are hard to tell but the damage on each side is on the lip. What should I expect to pay to have this panel painted blue/green chameleon? It took me 3 hrs to saw through the glue. I know one guy on here just did this and paid $250 to have his painted.

It came off a 95. I removed the entire rear hatch ( 4 13mm nuts ) both hatch schocks ( flat screw driver to get the clips out and then pull the shocks loose, make sure someone is holding the hatch before popping them loose ), the t-top bar ( 8 - 4 way screws, pops off ), the weather stripping behind the door glass ( 1 - 4 way screw and 1 10mm bolt ), and the metal bar behind the weather stripping ( 3 - 4 way screws, just pulls out )

The best part of this whole deal is that I got the panel for FREE

I actually used a 8 inch knife and a hammer. Took me 4 hours working on it. but if you can get ur hands on a junk peice of hood latch cable, that works really well too.
