highly dependent on where you live and who you know, and even more on your definition of quality. in about a day there will be 3 people in this thread claiming $5k+ and another 3 claiming they got their car sprayed for $1500 by a shop that paints show cars blah blah etc

I would ballpark it at $3000 depending on color (assuming you're not changing the color) and current condition

I was quoted $5k, no color change. Felt that was kind of high, $3k sounds right though.

I was quoted $2500 from a local shop a couple of years ago on my old Camaro. So, $3k is about right.

I got mine repainted last year...I mean where they took every part off the car that is removable and hung them separately in the paint booth. Looked like Sherwood Forest. Bright Red.....Double clear....called Concept Clear. He also gave me the CETA mod in Charcoal Grey.

$3,000........its friggin badass. I did have another well known shop do some wet sanding and buffing the following week for $250.00. They made it next to flawless.

You guys are gonna die.
I paid $3500.00 just to get one of my bikes painted.
It all depends on what you consider quality.

Everybody has their own idea of quality. Also, the type of paint makes a huge difference. One thing I would warn against is to be very wary of really really cheap quotes. Quality paint materials are not cheap----one paint manufacturer just raised their paint prices 8 percent and materials alone should cost well over $1000 depending on color and how much clear you put on. Material cost, prep work and finishing work is where the cost is cuz spraying the color takes only a couple hours.

This is true.
The prep is probably more important than the actual color application.
If you consider 3k for a decent paint job on a car, then if your looking to do a fender / door it should come out to a percentage of the total car.
In this case, somewhere between 700 to 900 bucks for good work.

I range from 3K to 5K. All depends on how crazy the customer wants to get on prep. Down to metal, so on so forth. Prep is the key, just cant gewt that through peoples head. Chuck

It depends on if the car is mettalic, if you want the jams redone, what kind of paint and how slick you want the clear coat.

I would say 5-6. If you look at how long it takes to do an overall paint job right, if someone does it for 3k they are doing it for about 10 bucks an hour. That's way too much work for that little bit of money.
