Well since i rear-ended a van and now my hood is definitely toast im in the market for an aftermarket ws6 hood. I would love an oem hood but people are asking outrageous prices for them so aftermarket it is. My only concern is i liked how the nostrils had that deep line and im looking for the closet to an oem hood as possible. I know VFN, trufiber, and some others offer good hoods, but would love to see some pics of the front part of the hood up close if anyone has any. Also how do aftermarket ones line up with the stock airbox? Just need to get a hood on my car so i can have a way around. thanks in advance

VFN WSQ Smoothie all the way. Do a search and you will find pics I'm sure.

Honestly, most of the aftermarket hoods fit like crap compared to the OEM one. If you want something close to the WS6 hood, just get an OEM one. If you want something different, I would look into the superhawk hood by Roger at US exotics or a raptor hood.
Most of the people selling WS6 hoods on here want a kings ransom sometimes. They know what the hood is worth and someone is willing to pay that amount. I would check your local craigslist or local salvage yards. Two of my friends got their OEM WS6 hoods off craigslist. One paid $700, the other paid $625.
Too bad you're not closer to Dallas, TX. There's a guy in the TX section classifieds selling an OEM WS6 hood for $800 OBO.
Good luck on your search.

bird sent me the contact info for a superhawk hood, just backed up for a few weeks so may just throw a sleak beak hood on it for the time being, but still in search for an oem hood.

Go to classic industries they have the pontiac mold so it is your closest bet I had the same problem. My bonus is that my father in law has a ws6 to compare it to

That looks pretty damned accurate to me. Plus you get the benefitr of heat extractors.....
I know you want OEM, and back when I had my TA, I bought "Trust's" old hood. I also paid 900 for it. It's going to cost a pretty penny. I'm not you, but if I was in the same position again, I'd either get the WS9 hood (pictured) from VFN, who actually knows what quality is, or get a hold of Roger and get a SuperHawk.

thought about going with the vfn regular hood, dont want to pay an extra 200 for heat extractors, i would love a superhawk hood but wait time plus price is whats holding me back.

I had a VFN WS6 hood on my Trans Am. It had the lines and overall was a pretty nice piece. The body shop said it fit fine, so I gave them the go-ahead to paint it. Unfortunately, the left front corner was not and could not be made flush with the fender and headlight cover.
After spending a lot of money on the thing I was very frustrated and ended up selling the car. If you go to My Albums and then Trans Am photos you can see a pic of it there.
