2002 ss - lt1 front
Wow, too many opinions in here.
OP, one area you'll need to figure out is the hood bump stop brackets. LS1 cars are different, and they sit higher, so the LT1 hood won't close all the way. You'll have to have them modified, or weld on LT1 brackets.
I swapped a LT1 T/A front end onto a 99 Firebird, and I had a shop drill off the LS1 brackets and weld in the LT1 ones.

I must say the hybrid looks pretty kick *** on the camaros I do love the ls1 headlights though mainly due to the ability of halo lights. Still fish I could find away to do the hid's on my 98' TA
I would upload some pics to show you, but this overseas internet is absolute crap.
Email me if its any easier. I'll be starting this converstion next month. I have to remove the ls1 airbox and reroute the air intake system to be similar to that of the lt1. Once that is complete I'll start with getting the hood, front bumper cover, and fenders removed. I'll then load the car up, and take it to body shop to have the lt1 parts ie. Hood, bumper, fenders, painted to match the car.
Two, one for each side. There are 8 spot welds to drill out on each bracket. A spot weld cutter works good. The body shop that painted the engine bay welded in the new ones, they weld in exactly the same position.
so I have been doing a quit of bit work to this SS. Sanded and prepped driver fender for paint, have the nose, hood, and body kit ready to go, also lowered the car. Finally got around to putting the BMR front and rear lowering springs on, with Bilstein front and rear shocks, Adj. BMR pan hard bar, and new front upper shock mounts. Loving the new stance. Thanks again BMR.
