Default My PlastiDip Green WS7

Just thought I'd share; My 1998 Trans Am 160kmi with a TruFiber hood, OE Wheels C6 Zo6R style rims (17x9.5, 18x10.5), Strano Springs, Just Painted it in my driveway (in a make shift paint booth) DYC Tahitian Green, Not perfect but came out lots better than the chipping and fading factory clear coat.
I used 4+ coats of Black (2 gallons)
3 coats of Clear with Tahitian Green Metallic (1.5 Gallon)
3 coats of Clear topcoat (1.5 Gallon)

I'll have to get some more pictures of it in the bright sun, it's a different color, the first pictures it was a little more overcast.

That actually looks really good. I don't think I've seen a Plastidiped car look that good. Looks just like a mate paint.

ya, PlastiDip has come a long way in the last 4-5 years, visit Dipyourcar.com for some examples, most people have seen newer dipped cars and don't even know it is a Dip Job. Doing my wife's Mini Cooper this weekend while I have the temporary paint booth set up.

I will say I've seen some decent looking dip jobs. But it is no where near a quality paint job. They are all 10 footers in my opinion. They look decent going down the road but look pretty crappy up close. I honestly don't see the appeal it's not exactly cheap after you buy all the ****. You could just as easily do a paint job it would just require a little more work but the payoff is way better. Sorry if this offends any plastidip fans I just don't care for it.

I like that green and think it looks good. It doesn't hurt that green is my favorite color. The red brake calipers clash with that green now. Any plans to change their color?

While I completely agree with this, not everyone knows how to paint for real like we do.

That said, it looks great in pictures. Nice color combo.

Another thumbs up from me. It looks a lot like the satin finished paints offered by companies like Mercedes, that make matte paint into a mainstream factory option. Nice example of a TruFiber hood too. I will be getting one of those soon.

What is your setup with the DRLs and fogs in front? Both look custom.

It looks good. I know the pros will say it's no where near as good as a real paint job. Which is true. However, when you take into consideration these cars in general are 5-7k, being smart with money you really shouldn't spend to the tune of 5-6k on a paint job. That is money you will never get back. If someone was inclined to paint it themselves that is up to them.

Looks good! Does it actually look black from some angles in person? I have been debating on wrapping my camaro or dipping it I think this pushed me more towards dipping it!

Damn that Looks amazing!
Ive been thinking of dipping my ta for a temporary cheap solution for the terrible paint. My car is almost this same color, how much did it cost you to do this.

I've definitely warmed to Plastidip over the last couple of years as the breadth and quality of their product offerings has grown considerably in that time.
