Bubbling Sail Panel Issue for Dummies
My roof/sail panel look like crap now that the car is 22 years old. I'd like to finally get this addressed, and was hoping to go the CF route, but I guess whatever option I have ...
I Googled for you, maybe you could try this...

It says "Availability: Ships Direct From Manufacturer"
Find out who it's coming from!
From the pics and description, I think it's the MAGG part.
Be careful ordering this, but maybe Ecklers can tell you more?
I was gonna buy one but didn't wanna wait that long, same deal with a rear diffuser

Thank you for the above, it just makes me happier that MAGG refused to get back to me.
So glad the roof from the 1995 Camaro worked out so well on my 2000 Trans Am.
I know right now Johnny59 has a few of these sail panels.
SO frustrating that on top of having to do the job, the part is SO hard to find.
I know someone here recently got the panel from GM as NOS -- just wow!
Were you able to salvage the panel they sent you?

P.S. The autobody shop that claimed they could get a N.O.S. item was blowing smoke up my ***. The item was on a "national backorder" was their claim. I was hopefull they might have an inside connection, but kept the panel I removed just in case.
Since urethane is used mostly for windshields, my body guy had his glass guy glue down my new roof panel ("new" from a 95 Camaro).
I hope your guy isn't "fixing" a contaminated roof panel -- it can NOT be done.
ANYTHING'S possible if you have enough $$$.
But that would NOT be the way to go.
The hardtop roof panel would fit at the quarters and the rear hatch, BUT.
You would have to fabricate the edge of the roof panel that butts up to the t-tops from scratch, and it would not be easy.
Or if you could somehow reuse the leading edge from your original roof and section it on to the cut off hardtop roof. But that would be a lot of work.
Nope, get one from any f-car 93-97, or see if johnny59 has any...
I know it's a hassle to worry about checking the build date on scrapped cars (hence the reason many folks just ignore the '98s), but as these panels get more and more scarce folks might want to be less picky about this extra (research) step.
