I've also got the same problem With the roof bubbles ..I have a 2000 camaro ss...That I've had since brand new ...I first noticed the bubbles Two years after I got the car ..And about a month ago I finally got around to painting the Panel ..I completely striped all the paint off Write down to the plastic ..Then completely primed And sealed it... And now the bubbles are coming back...I called up the dealer to find out how much a new panel would cost..And it is over $400.00 for a new one ...I told them About the factory recall ..And they said they knew nothing about it ...

Congrats on getting yours done. But what you said is not necessarily true. If you bring it to a dealer where you have brought your car in for service or have bought a car there before, you are more likely to have the work done on a good will basis.

Show them this thread and the TSB. The service manager that says that to me is going to get a punch in the face.

Unfortunately I believe you are. I had a hard enough time with 60k, and you are even out of the 6yr/100k paint protection warranty. I think you would have a hard time convincing anyone that an 8 year old car with over 100k miles on it should have its paint fixed.

On the flip side, if you have pictures from when the car was still under warranty (either the 3,36k or 6,100k) with the problem then maybe you could argue discovery. Since GM failed to let anyone know of this problem.

Probably your only option would be to call GM and tell them that they should have told you. They will give you the run around and tell you no, yada yada yada.

Then take them to small claims and try to argue to a judge that you had no way of knowing of a latent defect in the car (argue discovery), GM never told anyone and kept it secret, its devaluing your car.

Might be worth a shot if you got some spare time.

I don't know of anyone who had this work, might be a long shot.

Costs more than $300. I had several estimates done (one from the Chevy dealer) and all were $750-$900.

Well if this place knows what they are doing and in fact its $300 I am there. However I doubt the $300 figure.

Maybe for a T-top car but a coupe will be around 2300-2500. Keep fighting and remember GM isnt the one that says no its the dealers. If anyones on Ohau with this problem got to Cutter on Alamona, thats who fixed mine for no charge.

Just got mine done. If you need to know where and you are around chicago pm me. Top notch job I got done.

Look at the top of the roof in the 2nd picture. The specs in there are just from the white towel I used to whipe it off after the carwash. It's like looking in a mirror, beautiful work.
