What's the going rate to have the sail panel fixed? Just looked at my car today....it's been sitting in the garage since Feb. due to a blown transmission. I have a ton of bubbles popping up everywhere! Sucks! Any rough idea on cost?

Still amazes me that this adhesive is so potent that not a sealant on earth can hold it in.

You can enter your VIN here: http://www.compnine.com/vid.php

If that site doesn't show your build info, you can take your VIN to any GM dealer and the parts counter guys can run a VIS report on the car which will show the build date and all options.

I purchased the sail panel and two trim pieces from GM Parts direct, the install cost was $550.00.

If no one saw my remarks in page 68 i am in the process of submitting a claim to Better Business Bureau. I will be mailing 3 page letter of information about the issue and research I did on the internet for the past month. Also to let you know this bubbling issue is not only for our 99-02 fbodies but c5 vettes from 99-04 have the same bubbling on the rear hatch near the rear bumper. they used the same adhesive.

Default Well this is great... I can't buy a new one anymore.

Looks like GM is completely out of the roof pieces... anyone know where I can get these at? Otherwise how much of a pain in the *** is it to remove one from a 93-97?

Fixed mine last week in my garage. I have a way to get them off pre 98 cars at the salvage yard. Its a lot of work with out screwing them up. I have my buddy refinish/paint them for me. I remove the bubbled one and use the glue they say to use in the service bulletin which is actually 3M window weld that they sell at every auto parts store. Put the window weld on and align the sail panel. This takes seriously 2 hours to do from start to finish. This is my third car I have done. Probably do my buddy's ss in the next week or so. Oh by the way I am not a body man for a living. So just about anyone can do this.
