Default Painting SS hood scoop

hey guys i have an 01 pewter SS and im going to paint the hood scoop black. The problem is i cant decide if i should use gloss black or flat black. does anyone have any input on my paint selection or on the process itself? also if anyone has done this lets see some pics!

I think it depends on what the rest of your cars "theme" is. If you do it flat then anything else you do on the car would need to be flat otherwise it would look foolish.

I'd say gloss!! and i would have a pro do it unless you have the skills...or just get the manta decal kit.. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

I plan on getting mine painted pretty quick. then do the berger panel. and then some ccw wheels. Love the way pewter with black scoop looks.

you need to do it shiny or the shinny black roof will more then likely look just out of place. but thats just my opionion

I have a flat black berger panel and a custom flat black stripe on my hood and it looks great

i just finished spraying an iroc with the ss scoop, scoop black and rest of the hood was blue, also has to redo the front bumper and the headlight portion was also done black cause of a ton of spider cracks everywhere and horrible prep work from the previous painter,but looks real nice with the combo of the two. gloss black for sure.

i have an lt1 front, but i did mine gloss black and burried the whole hood so thier wouldn't be a paint edge, right now i have t-tops with a silver roof but i got a hard top shell that i'm swaping everything over in. the roof is gonna be gloss black with silver door handles and not sure about the mirriors yet.
