Default ?'s on removing factory 3-piece spoiler

well i've came to the conclusion that my car would look much better in the rear w/o the factory 3-piece spoiler. how is this thing removed....is it bolted on or held on w/ adhesive? whats the best moethod for taking this thing off? the paint on my car is silver and has always been protected, waxed, and taken care of so i dont think color variation would be an issue.

also, if its removed and the paint underneath isn't up to par, is it just as easily put back on as it is taken off?

Open the hatch, pop off the trim panel and unbolt. Have someone there to hold the spoiler so it doesn't hit your paint. FWIW, I had mine off a few years ago to repaint it and the Camaro looks like **** without it. Sort of looks like a Ford Taurus!!

im not talkin about the whole spoiler, im talking about the 3-piece spoiler that comes as part of the ground effects option from the factory. it sits on top of the factory spoiler.

i think the 3 piece looks good if u have the gfx... but im considering taking my gfx off, and the 3 piece would make the car look really weird without the gfx... do u still have your gfx on?

yea i do still have them, but when i look at the car from the rear, with the gfx on the bottom and 3piece on top it just seems too busy for me. it does look good but im just tired of it i guess. id at least like to see a pic of a car that has the gfx w/o the 3piece spoiler.

I think it would look OK. Worst case scenario, you put it back on or go with a different one. Give it a shot!

There's going to be some dime sized holes to weld up if you take it off...

Three holes per side if I remember correctly. I agree though, the three piece needs to go.

As for the GFX.. that will leave dozens of holes, but smaller.
