Default My Firehawk's chrome is pealing inside...help...suggestions...

I have a set of Firehawk wheels and the insides are starting to bubble and flake and peal. I was wondering what the best way to avoid this would be.

I have been thinking about stripping down the insides and painting them a few coats then clearing the **** out of them...would this be ok? I don't want to get them rechromed...I'm not that ****(nor do I have the cash for that). The outsides look find just the insides are not looking the way I want them too haha.

Well that sucks. I remember searching a while back then getting to busy to do anything about them.

I guess I'll grind away and repaint. Any clue how much rechroming would be...I've just been assuming it'd be retardedly expensive.

Common thing with the hawk wheels. Mine were like that and everyone else I know that has them has the same problem. Its pretty much a rarity if you dont get the peeling!

I just wish the judges realize this at the show.

For fear of something happening...I'm remaining silent about the condition of my wheels.

The chromed 16" wheels on the 'birds do the very same thing. Mine were doing it.

ReChromeing is Real Expensive, I was Quoted 550.00 for 2. I Am going to get the insides of 1 set I have Powdercoated for 50.00 a wheel. I was also at a Carshow this past weekend, And a Guy had painted the Insides of His wheels and they looked real good, Just have to do the Proper Prep. He painted them and then Clearcoated them.
