It's not my cup of tea style wise, but it's damn nice work. The proportions and overall flow are very nice. I especially like the last pic. Have you painted it yet? Bet it's going to look sweet.

Hey Raleigh TA, I see you finished your shaker. You need to take some pics, I can't find any here.

I put my Raptor hood on a month or so ago and I just don't care for it. I think I'm going to get a used front bumper cover and fill in the nose to smooth it out like this:

It's still a little plain, so I was wanting to add either a shaker or a molded in shaker looking hump just to make it a bit more racy looking. I want more of a streamlined look and the Raptor just doesn't give me that. With the new front bumper cover I also want to smooth a few things out and add a spoiler. Something custom and smooth like a Bonneville racer. Like it can do 200mph, you know? I'll be converting it to a front breather so it will have some cool air inlets and maybe some thin rectangular fog lights. Heat extractors along the sides of the hood are another possibility

Here's my old hood thread if anyone want's to see some different ideas.

I talked to a body shop about filling the nose about a year ago and they were thinking the whole area would need to be filled solid with that epoxy body filler that you use for these polyurethane like bumper covers which would make it cost way too much to do. I disagree with them. I think this can be done in fiberglass. I know a guy who does a lot of radical mods all over his car out of foam and fiberglass and the work looks great. I'll post some pics in a bit.

Here we go:

This is proof that we can do whatever we set our mind to.

Awww, come on. That took a lot of work. Earlier versions of the car are here. He's in Finland, BTW.

That guy does good work. He's a hell of a sculpter. I would not do that to my car, but the work is great.

That's real? I thought it was photoshop.

You can mold fiberglass onto urethane if you want it to crack off from vibrating down the road. It's OK for show cars, or for concepts that are only intended to last a few months.

Well, what is a method to make it last?
Do you need a plastic welding kit?

I don't have time to do a write up on it, but if you call me I'll talk you through it.

What if you were to cover the whole front and most of the rear in fiberglass so that the whole front bumper cover is rigid?

I'm going to have to take a good look, but it may be possible to take a mold off the cover while it's still on the car. Then you that to make a new fiberglass front bumper cover.

That front end mod would look great on a Formula with a TA hatch.

This isn't a hood, but a custom front end.

These can be bought for $475. I wonder if I should sell my Raptor hood and buy this front end? Then fill the nose in and run the stock smooth hood. Maybe add the shaker if it needs it.

Hmmm, I think I'll do a PS to see what it would look like.

I just got word from the company that it is 100% hand laid fiberglass. It costs $395.
