hope you were not trying to be a smart *** because if so you failed the best way to repair fiberglass is fiberglass (spreadable like bondo, or cloth and resign fiberglass)

Smart *** me no! Twas just a joke. Just looking for the name of the best product to use before I go buy just any old two part epoxy from an auto part store. I want to be sure to do it right instead of making it worse.

Regular polyester fiberglass resin will not work on your car. It will not stick, because it is not fiberglass. It looks similar to fiberglass but it is actually SMC. SMC has mold release agents all the way through the panel. Therefore polyester resin will not adhere to it. The best way to fix it is to get SMC resin made by evercoat. I do not remember the part number to it, I have some at the shop but not here. If you want send me a pm and I will let you know. Akso do not use fiberglass cloth, use the fiberglass mat. The cloth and mat will both adhere, but the cloth can shrink and show the woven pattern in your repair work after it is complete.

I am just wondering what you would do for the vin stickers on your door if you decide to replace it.
