FS: Libertys faceplated T56 built by RPM Transmission and Quicktime blowproof Bell
Ive sold my 99 SS. And Im gonna begin restoring and modding my 87 IROC-Z. My IROC is an auto car and Id like to go turbo with it. So I need to sell my Libertys faceplated T56 and quicktime blowproof bellhousing to fund a built auto and stall converter. So heres the specs on the transmission.
Libertys faceplated 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th gear set, RPM bronze fork pads on every fork including reverse, RPM billet slider keys on 5th/6th, compressed carbon 5/6 blocking rings, compressed carbon reverse blocking ring, RPM modified 1/2 shift fork, steel 3/4 shift fork, hand fit slider assymblies, RPM bronze shifter bushing, Performance Metal micropolishing.
Also included is the Quicktime blowproof bellhousing. Fits perfect and gives a LOT of piece of mind when doing those 6000+rpm launches.
Everything in perfect shape with 1500 miles and 20 passes on it. The trans was disassymbled and inspected after 15 passes and looked perfect. The transmission shifts AMAZING! Flawless WOT shifts. Literally fingertip shifting.
Im asking $4000 for the package +shipping. Thanks.

Unfortunitly I dont have any in-car video. But I do have video of it in action at the drag strip. The clutchless downshifts would be a little difficult in any non-sequential transmission but not at all impossible. It would be a 2 set process. #1 being letting off the throttle slightly and putting the trans in nutral then #2 revving the engine to roughly the same RPM that the engine will be at in the lower gear. It would be a perfect road race transmission. RPM transmissions has done quite a few of these for road race applications with great success. Let me know if you would like to have links to the videos at the drag strip. Thanks!

Here is a link. I was lifting on the shifts because I was spraying and not on a window switch.
