Default Comp Billet Custom Hydraulic Roller LT1 cam for 383 or 396

Category: Racing Parts
Price: $175
Location (State): MO
Item Condition: Used
Shipping Information: Item Can be Shipped
Engine: LT1/LT4, Small Block
LS Engine?: Non-LS Part

This cam was custom ground for my 383 with ported heads.
It has a little too much overlap for my 93, but it made great power.
94+ cars with MAFs and faster PCMs will handle it much better.

236/248 .570/.570 104 LSA (lift numbers @ 1.50:1)
That's 88* of overlap @ .006"

Has about 1000 miles on it.
In great shape, no nicks, scratches, dents or excessive wear.
Comes with cam card.

Short pin for early non-vented Optis, can easily be altered for long-pin.
You WILL need a custom tune to run this.

$175

Sounds like this though a single 3" Hooker

No problem;

This cam was designed for an N/A car, it has a lot of overlap.
By "gnarly", I mean it has a very choppy idle.

It's exactly what I asked for at the time, but it's not what I want today if that makes sense.
By the time I finished with my build, I'd changed by mind about wanting a race car that I
drive on the street. Now I want a street car that I can take to the track once in a while.

that cam will probably idle at about 1000 rpm comfortably. This cam would be a stump puller in that 396.

I set idle at 1050RPM, with a faster (94+) PCM, you should be able to get it closer to 950-1000.
"Narrower" LSAs do tend to have more overlap, which is great for top end power.

I think the cam would be a good fit for your setup (stroker, automatic, gear) if you didn't already have a custom grind.
I just don't see enough gain to justify all of the work to swap cams and retune the car.
That said, I don't know how agreesive your lobes are or what the rest of the setup looks like.

What is it that you don't like about the existing setup?
