same piston

Fex77k is my brother so I would like to add a bit to his post.

Honestly we still aren't sure what caused the scratched cylinder wall, was it our old machinist, was it during assembly, was it during running. Either way it doesn't really matter, when we tore down the engine the block needed to go another .010" over on the number 7 or 8 cylinder, I can't remember now which one. We ended up buying some JE Pistons Part#:138094 that are 4.040" bore just so I can reuse the 3.75" crankshaft and the 6" rods. The only markings on the pistons are in the one picture above.

These pistons are $98 apiece if you go through Wiesco.
You will need to buy the ring set for these pistons, and the spiro locks. I'll put the oil rail supports in there as well and you can decide to replace those if you want.

Link to the piston kit with pins, locks, rings, rail supports

If anyone wants I'll take multiple pictures of each piston if they have any concerns.

Deck Height: 9.025"
Bore: 4.030"
Stroke: 3.75"
Rod Length: 6"
Chamber Volume: 58cc
Gasket Thickness: .042"
Piston Dome Volume: -13cc Dish
Pin Height: 1.125"

This makes for a piston that is in the hole about .025" and an 10.22:1 Static Compression Ratio. However the block was decked some which means the deck height is probably more like 9.01 which would make the piston .01" in the hole and the compression more like 10.83:1.

A short explanation is that it was around 10.5:1.

Um no, I only ran impy gaskets that measured .028" thickness, so that an extra half point easy. Stock is 10.4:1 we were over 11:1.
