Default SOLD - Forged LT1 383 Short Block For Sale

Category: Engine - Complete Motors
Price: $2700
Part Fits: 93-02 Chevrolet Camaro, 93-02 Pontiac Firebird, Corvette
Location (State): NC
Item Condition: Brand New
Shipping Information: Item Can be Shipped
Engine: LT1/LT4
LS Engine?: Non-LS Part

As the title states, I was in the middle of assembling an LTX based forged 383. Now I've switched over to the LS platform and the 383 is sitting in the corner of my garage.

Here's the breakdown of the motor:

93 LT1 block, fully machined (Block cleaned, magnafluxed, bored with deck plate, splayed caps installed, line bored/honed, core plugs installed, Durabond cam bearings installed, clean up milled with around .005 removed, stroker clearanced)

Eagle Billet Splayed Caps w/ ARP Studs/Bolts
Ohio 4340 Forged Crankshaft
Ohio 4340 H-Beam 5.7 Rods w/ ARP 2000 Bolts
Keith Black Forged Pistons with +6.4cc Valve Reliefs
Perfect Circle Plasma-Moly Rings
Clevite TM77 Rod and Main Bearings
SFI Approved Professional Products Balancer
SFI Approved TCI Flexplate
Rotating Assembly Fully Balanced (Have Memo with all the weights, it was faxed to me from the company as I lost the original sheet)
Melling M155HV Oil Pump w/ Milodon Pump Bracket, hardened drive shaft, ARP Pump Stud
Moroso 7qt Kicked out Zinc Finish Pan with Matching bolt-on pick-up
LS7 Lifters
New (Comp Cams iirc) Replacement Lifter Spider and Anti-Rotation Link Bars
Herron Billet Aluminum Oil Pump Drive w/ factory gear
Lunati Cam
Lunati Billet True Roller Single-Row Timing Set (For Gen 1 Opti Design)
All Fasteners are ARP (Including the oil pan), except the ones for the lifter spider and the oil pump drive hold down bolt.

Water pump gear has been removed as this motor was going to be run with an electric water pump.

Oil pump to pan clearance has yet to be measured.

Piston to deck has yet to be measured. Like I stated earlier, deck was cleaned/ squared up, machine shop reported .005 or less was removed, I just have not got around to doing final measurement after assembly. Compression distance for the pistons is 1.433. (3.75/2) + 5.7 + 1.433 = 9.008. So, clearance should be .017 - .012. 9.025 - 0.005 - 9.008 = .012 .

Engine is currently fitted with the 93 timing cover, but I will include a 96-97 cover with the engine.

Oil Pan is a tight fit, washers had to be removed from the 4 corner pan bolts to grab, and one of the rear reenforcement tabs had to be pulled back (pulled back not removed). Would suggest oil pan studs to ease reinstalling the pan.

The cam is on the small side (specs will be given to serious buyers when asked, have cam card) as this motor was originally to be set up with factory ported heads. Also have MLS 4.100 x .051 head gaskets I will include as well.

I have about 90% of the receipts for this motor. Build was started in 2009, motor has been oiled and bagged for storage, cleaned once every 1-2 months, re-oiled and re-bagged. Seriously, this motor has had plenty of time, care, and money put into it. I hate to see it go, but I'm just not going to put it to use. My loss, but I get to keep it in the LTX community on LS1tech.

Will post pictures when I get a chance to. I'd prefer not to ship. However , I will get a freight quote (for lower 48 only) if need be.

$2700 obo

Any other questions PM me. Thanks.

Thanks man, I've put ALOT of time and effort into this motor. Parts selection and planning took me almost a year...I changed directions with it and was going to go with AFR 210s and a larger cam, this thing would be an animal with a setup like that.

You need the balancer and flexplate, it's balanced with the rotating assembly.
