Default Fried PCM, help needed

About a week ago my car was starting hard, and also was having electric problems (Lights flickering while driving, etc.). Then it would completely not start. The shop pulled the code (P0601 - Control Module Read Only Memory (ROM), and I was wondering if I have to get a completely new PCM and if so, how would I get my tune on it? I'm not even sure if it would run with a factory tune

Any help is appreciated.

If you throw a P060x code on a 1998 pcm, it is normally dead.

Contact your tuner. He will have the 'finished' version of your tune. You can send him a PCM (or maybe he has one) and have it flashed back...

So all I need is a new PCM with my tune on it, correct?

OK So I had a new battery and terminal installed, and also got a new PCM with my tune flashed to it. Anything I should worry about before replacing the PCM? I'm assuming it got fried when I was having bad battery problems

I'm assuming the mechanic knows to disconnect the battery before replacing it

Unhappy

I'm having this too. (One day it just didn't work). Any fuses or wiring to check on the PCM?
