Default I have a (.hpt) with a tune that I need checked!!!

As the title states, I had a friend tune my Lumina SS (in KSA) in other words Commodor SS Sedan, and I need to know if he did a good job on the tune...

I have a cold air intake, headers, and exhaust... he also increased the pressure on my 4l60e a little, so what should I do? can I give those files to someone that could check them out? I have copies of them...

Thanks Alot

Send me the tune and I'll have a look for you. Holden's are my forte.

It would make it easier if you just uploaded as an attachment on this site.

Can't help you if I can't read the file because its locked. Another stupid aspect of HPT right there.

There is a way to look at the locked file. Can't edit it, but you can look at it. I asked on the HP Tuners forum if I should be able to do that on a locked file and after a couple of exchanges my post got deleted. Looks like it wasn't intended to work that way and they didn't want that to get out so I'll refrain from saying publicly how I did it.

yeah. really annoying.
i'd never do business with a shop that locks their tune files. not even to purchase a nitrous refill if i found out they lock their tunes.

Ok. First off your "friend" tuned it and you want us to tell you what he did?

I'll assume he doesn't have a wideband since no fuel or airflow tables were changed, except for idle airflow

Main spark tables were bumped up quite a bit with no particular pattern. Depending on how much air flow you're engine is seeing, at WOT you'll be at least at 30 degrees going up to 33 at 6400. That's probably a little much even if you're not see any knock retard.

Does your car have a performance shift switch? All the perfomance shift tables are modified where some of the normal shift tables are not. For instance WOT shift RPM and MPH are lower than stock in the normal table but are much higher in performance mode.

He took away some TM and add quite a bit of line pressure and force motor current. It probably shifts pretty hard.

And lastly he disabled VATS and up your speed limiter from 240km/h to 280km/h

Ok, so he actually advanced timming, and nothing else?!

Thats kinda weird, since he told my friend that he changed fueling and Air Flow...

Who can I talk to so I can tune it? dosn't HP Tuners have aftermarket support?! I mean can't I get a Base tune for Cold Air Intake, Headers, and Exhaust?! and then fine tune it when I get the WideBand?!

Btw: my friend says he loves u in an ungay way for unlocking this for us... cause the car is now unstable on idle and we had alot of doubts about that guys tune and we were right!!!

Thanks bro...

(btw: a friend in arabic means, a person that did something for us for free for someone who knows someone we know, so he is not really our friend, he's just someone that has an HP Tuner...)
