Default Retune for 42# injectors?

SO, my car is full intake, full exhaust, nitrous and a 230/232 on a 112 +2 with stock injectors it was tuned and ran great.

I threw the 42# (Ford Greentops) on yesterday and it runs horrible (sounds/smells like flooding). My tuner said not to worry we just have to change the injector size in the PCM and then it will be good to go (which we are doing tonight).

I just wanted to make sure it is normal for it to run really rough (until it warms up) to make sure I am just not running on a bad set or something... Thanks!

Yeah, any time you change injector size its going to run like dump untill its retuned.

^^So it is just as simple as punching in the new size or do I need to do a full retune? Thanks for the quick response...

you will need a full tune to be right. setting the injector size will get it close. But different brand injectors flow different amounts at different loads.

Alright cool, I'll take her for a spin afterwards and do some logging... Crap, now I have to jack the car up for the wide band again, I should have added a bung

I tell my customers not to swap to anything that size or bigger until we are ready to re-flash it... I advise against attempting to crank a car with them swapped at all until at least a base update is flashed.

You'd hate me I've driving it about 10 miles but 30 minutes worth...

Check your oil, it is full of gas. I agree with Frost, don't even start it without reflashing. It will destroy your motor very quickly.

Once the car is hot it will fight back with aggressive fuel trimming, but that OL startup/warmup is brutally rich. Not good rich.
