Thats bull **** right there and down right pisses me off even though none of it was directed towards me. I bought HP tuners to learn how to tune, that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing. Everytime I change something with HP tuners, I get on here and ask if I'm basically going in the right direction with it.

Most of the people on this website are very helpful, only most of them. Those very few people just ruin the reputation of this website.

XZ28X wasn't totally knocking you down, beside look what this guy said...

Learning to tune is one thing, I know I wouldn't be practicing on other cars unless I felt 100% in my abilities and would man up financially If my tuning may have cause an issue that required repair.....

just to clear it up to the OP.

you offered your cam installation and tuning services to the owner of the vehicle that you are talking about, for of course an undisclosed amount of money.

1. you had never done a cam swap on an lsx based motor before.
2. you proceeded to drop a lifter into the motor, rookie move
3. somehow along the way the owner decided/had to get a head swap since you dropped the lifter into the motor
4. you then proceeded to "tune" his car after you had completed the install of all the parts.
5. you stated YOURSELF that there was no problems with oil pressure/motor when you fired it up and started tuning.
6. the knocking started AFTER you took it to 4500rpm to finish your tuning, like you stated.

get your facts straight, before you start trying to get yourself look like the victim on here.

oh, and the whole "respect" thing? come on. this isnt fast and the furious.

There are alot of people out there that take the time to learn tuning, then there is alot of people that have no right to even try to tune. This goes for some shops too. We've got in plenty of cars with broken ringlands from bad tunes which was mostly done by the car owners.

why do you think GM now checks the computers to see if they have been messed with? -Engine problems from bad tuning..

The single most important thing, is to respect your
own limitations and the hardware. Nobody can know
everything. Best to believe you know nothing, when
it comes to tuning a vehicle, besides what you can
measure or verify.

Just one crusty injector can ruin your whole "lean
is mean" plan.

Responsibility for results is why I try not to mess
too much with other peoples' vehicles and never
take their money. Help a buddy sometimes, with
the right understanding in place. But taking pay
means taking responsibility. If you want respect.

...and that is exactly why I NEVER offer my services to anyone. If I screw my car up, it was my own damn fault.

I don't care what the other person says to try and get you to "help"...if you mess up their engine while punching around on the keyboard, they are going to hold you responsible for the damage and expect compensation.

"Sorry dude...I fucked up and your motor is toast" doesn't go a long way toward the thousands of dollars it could cost to fix a mistake like that.
