Default Would you drive this 200 miles to the tuner?

I had the stock LS-1 with the bigger but stock for 01' injectors, (the same ones that were in the LS-6 that year I was told)

I had it tuned last spring very conservative at around 11.7-12.1 WOT with the mods below in my sig.

I now am dropping in a 6.0 L with about that same size cam, but heads that flow allot more. Would I be OK to drive at part throttle 200 miles to the tuner or should I trailer it?

This 6.0L made 480 rwhp with green 42# injectors, so should I just buy bigger injectors to take with me?

I am also tempted to swap out this ecu and save it (and the tune) for the LS-1 to be installed in my dads 53' truck. Does it matter which ECU I replace it with or are all ECU's from 98-02 F-body V-8 the same?

Could I then take this ECU with the LS-1 tune and have the vats disabled so it will work in the 53' truck without wiping the tune out?

Thanks in Advance, Zach

Take it to someone who you have faith in that will do it right. If it means 200 miles then do it. I will be doing that also but its more like a 200 miles round trip for me.

If you kept in the same injectors the computer is programmed for, then you should be ok for regular driving until your tuner can adjust for wide open throttle.

The front o2 sensors should compensate for the minor change in torque/hp for regular driving.

I wouldnt change out your injectors until you got to the tuner.

The 99-2002 computers are about the same. And the 97-98 computers are different.

I thought the 01-02 were slightly better than the 99-00?

The operating system is better in the PCM but the actual PCM is the same. You can change the OS from a 99 to a 02 if you wanted.

They are different PCMs, the 99-00s use the 896 PCM and the 01-02s use the 411. They are not internally exactly the same though they can both run any of the 99-02 OS's as you noted.

No one is talking about injectors, they are talking about PCMs and OS's... Yes the 99-00's have 26s and the 98 01 02 have 28s.

I thought they all had the 411 pcm, I guess I never looked close enough. I have had a 411 pcm in my 99 camaro for the last several years. Are they interchangable?

They seem to be.... I have run 411 OS's on 896s and 896 OS's on 411s.

They are interchangeable. I've upgraded some 2bar cars to 411's. However the 896's seem to do just fine with the newer 01/02 os.
