OBD plus Can scanner that works for SES, SRS and ABS
Any one know a good scanner to use for most OBD2 cars that will show not only SES codes but SRS and ABS codes also?
I have one in mind that I want to try but don't know the quality.
is cheap so it make me wonder if its any good.
Can I post the name of it on this site?

Our Scan tool will show those, It is laptop based and is very accurate. You can download the software for free on our site if you want to check out what it does. It is fully configurable and does not lock to a car, so you can use it on anything we support.
The HARDWARE is what costs money. But the software you can demo all you want.
Hardware if you can find an old V1 will do VPW but not newer 2006 can vehicles. But i have seen those around for about 200 dollars. I have new V2 units that cover vpw and can for $499

I have efi Live with scan tool. I work part time at a body shop.
I have tryed efi live on a few cars that did not work even for ses codes.
Yestarday I tryed pulling codes on a 2005 Grand prix GT 3.8L
It was not supported.
I was looking at a hand held that supports more cars and it is only about $120.00 it also claims to support can vehicles.

just updated to v7.5 software.
I have to older version with usb to small black box and cord from there to cars obd port. it says flash Scan fsp V1.2
I looked through the supported vehicles and this grand prix was not listed.
It looked like the only grand prix supported is the 5.3 gxp version.

That support list is for Programming not scan tool so much.. The scan tool is ALOT more universal with the V2 unit as it is Vpw Can and aldl compatible. "ALDL isnt implemented yet though but should be soon"
We have made some changes recently that also added in Cummins support, so there is even some Can scan support for them as well.
The V2 unit has a handheld function that allows you to look and see things on the screen on it directly or thru the laptop.
I Just checked here, and im able to check codes just fine on the V6 car you mention. What car type did you select on the scan tool? I picked the ls1b and it showed them.
It wont read out that car or write to it yet, but it will definatly show codes.
