Default Do wideband O2 sensors wear out?

Hey guys, lately my wideband O2 gauge has been showing me to be idling a full point or two leaner than normal, and it also shows my power enrichment a point or 2 richer than it is tuned for. Nothing has changed in the tune. Does this sound like normal signs of an aging sensor? The sensor is about 5 years old. Thanks for any replies.

It's a PLX with an aluminum looking red control box. I seem to remember the Volkswagon logo on the actual sensor, so I should be able to find one pretty easily.

I've had one go bad, not worn but fouled out. Probably from too many
trips with it plugged in but unpowered.

I've also gotten tripped up using a custom transfer function programmed
into the LM-1, and had it forget that when the 9V battery died. Then I
had to undo some mixture tweaking that was based on a mismatched
wideband and logger idea of what volts meant.

Thanks guys. I will order a new one. It shows me to be idling at mid 16s instead of mid 14s. Then when I hit PE it pegs out rich instead of mid 11s. But it still pulls instead of bogging, so I know the fuel is where it is supposed to be.

I have to replace mine every couple years for the one in my car. On my LM1 that I use for tuning I replace it every 6-8 months, but it takes a bit more abuse.
