Default 2002 Trans AM Tuning ?????

Ok I found a guy here that will do a custom tune on my car for 250, should I do that or buy one of those hypertech tuners or diablo or which ever one. Or just let him do the tune cut out a few lights that come on and then buy a tuner and use it to monitor my system!

Any advice would be helpful trying to figure this out. or is the tune from him and the tune you get from hyper tech and diablo something extra and different!

Hyperjunk and the like are pointless. Either pay $250 for one tune, or spend $500 on HPT or EFI Live and do all the tunes you want by yourself, any time you need them.

No handheld units can delete codes from the PCM any more (I dont believe).

Diablosport used to be able to but I heard that the EPA forced them to remove that feature.

A mail order tune like the one mentioned above will take care of this.

so that frost tune is pretty much what the guy will be doing accept I wont have to switch out my computer in the car, it appears that you buy the frost and its a new computer with everything already tuned and you remove your old one! With the guy im talking about he goes in and retunes everything the frost will do and remove the cat sensor and leave the old computer??? what should I do so many options!!!

I was thinking of letting him tune the car then buying this so I can just monitor stuff, and use as a diagnostic tool aswell.

No for Frost you take out your PCM and send it to him and he returns it after he has done the work to it.

For your diagnostic tool look at this.

I'm sure that guy is no where near as good as Frost is.
I wouldn't let some guy tune my car. Frost's mail order tune is cheaper and more reliable.

But what codes are you tuning out? Are you sure they should be tuned out?

I bought a hypertech tuner and it ran .5 seconds slower in the 1/4 mile. Was past the year when we finally used it and hypertech wouldn't do anything. Can't even sell it Nobody wants it

Default Camaro and Firebird tunes

I have a 1982 C10 that I recently swapped a LS1 out of a 2002 Firebird. I just got it fired up but it won’t stay running. From the painless wiring directions, I expected this because the anti-theft needed to be programmed out. My question is, what is the best tuners out there to get the job done. I’m a newbie so if there are simpler ones that wouldn’t hurt. I’m look for something basic. Not looking to race but would like the ability to do some relatively simple tuning.
