Default How do I use tow/haul mode on my swap

I'm swapping a 5.3/4L80E in my Mustang and I was curious about if I could use tow/haul mode to have the trans shift differently. I'm using a PSI harness and 411 PCM, thanks.

If the donor PCM / harness / tune was set up with
the dual mode (as many trucks were), then, yes.

But question is, do you really want Grandma and
haul-*** modes, both? Or just one that gets it done
the way you want? Whatever you want, wants tune
file fiddling. Tow/Haul is just letting you have two
options selectable.

Is you harness built off a camaro or a truck harness? You can add tow haul to both by adding a wire to the pcm and having a momentary button. The pcm of course has to be set up for it to work.

It's a PSI conversion harness.

I understand that but the harness is a new standalone copy of a either a fbody or truck harness. I am pretty sure they are f body based but not 100% sure.

Tow/Haul has to be enabled in the tune. Then you will give pin C1-71 a MOMENTARY Ground to activate T/H. If you give that pin a momentary ground again or turn off the key---T/H will be cancelled.

late bump,

Anyone figure a way to wire the tow/haul in a blue/green ECU without the BCM?

can also go in another way thru BCM if donor was equipped.
This would also initiate the tow/haul light.

I am attempting to find a bcm from a tow/haul equipped blazer or jimmy. Id rather just wire to the ECU like the 411 but not an option with 03+ ecu

Could another shift / tune /profile be enabled through one of the trans shifter detents? I have an 2007 (Gen IV) L92 and 6L80 / e38 / harness from an escalade / Denali but without the BCM. The stock trans shifting tune is very conservative.

I know many vehicles have a sport mode enabled by moving to another detent on the trans. Was thinking I'd have an economy mode and sport mode which would use higher shift points, etc. I personally don't think I'd use TU / TD functionality often.

Jeff knows what is up!! I do have one question Jeff, does the tow haul mode change the whole program or just "some" of the perameters?? Corey and I are discussing tuning options, and we need this one item resolved to continue the "THINK TANK" that is in progress.

Great research!

I'm assuming you could use tow / haul for a sport parameter rather than just towing? In short, you could reprogram the entire trans profile?

Is pin C1-71 to the main ECU - OR? Or to some other module I don't have a BCM in my application.

Its red/blue only. I have not found a way to activate mine. I am looking for an envoy or blazer that has tow/haul and swap BCM's.
