Weird issues with advance being pulled during coast, please advise!!!!
So,
If you look at the attached hpl file youll see these randon dips under the "Advance" value. This always/only occurs during low/closed throttle coast conditions...like when cruising on the highway and the road goes from a gentle incline to a gentle decline and the car/throttle coasts. You can feel it in the car. it feels like a quick sharp decel for a split second, almost as if I were driving and accidentally tapped the brake. I have no know and the car/tune feels good otherwise. Any ideas? Thanks!!!!

it looks like your dfco is kicking in that's why you feel the brake like feeling. When your timing goes down look at your injectors and they are practically off. There are some drops in your timing though that do not look like dfco. Maybe you can try disabling dfco then do another scan and see what it looks like.

I took another look at the other dips and what it looks like is your entering dfco so the timing starts to drop, but before it can drop to your threshold timing (which then turns the fuel off) your tps value increases a bit which makes you exit dfco.

I guess that makes sense. Ill try disabling dfco and seeing if that fixes the issue. Ill post a reply here once I get the chance to try it. Thanks!

Ok, finally got some good weather. So setting the dfco enable temp to max...ie disabling it, fixes the problem. So the next question is, what to I change it dfco to keep the fuel benefits while maintaining drivabilty? Basically have a stock motor with full exhaust.

I just had a thread about this same thing and was told the DFCO should not affect the timing...exact same issue and circumstances and when I changed my DFCO settings (nothing else was changed) the car stopped doing it.
So I would be interested in the response to your question as well, ideally I would like to keep DFCO but don't like the way the car jumps in and out of doing whatever it is doing
