Default Lc1 wideband issues

I installed my wideband today and the gauge comes on and just blinks 7.4. The calibration led doesn't ever light up and the sensor doesn't get warm either. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

If it doesn't get warm then it doesn't have power, either 12v or grounding problems.. Wherever you ground to the frame make sure you grind the paint away first..

Heater grounds and calibration ground should all be crimped to the same ring and then grounded to get a good signal..

My directions showed black wire from lc1 goes to cal button, then button to engine ground. All grounds are to engine block per instructions. Also verified 12v source with multi meter.

Ok did you make sure to plug the sensor In to the lc1 cable box and let it sit for a minute or 2 while it warms up?

I'd hate to think you got a dud straight out of a brand new box

Did you try the yellow one? Channel1 and Channel2 is programmed differently. I recall mine Channel 2, out of the box, was setup for Narrow Band emulation.

Did you try using LM PRogrammer to ensure it was setup as expected ? Note, anytime there is a sustained power loss w/the LC1, it WILL loose its settings and youwill have to reset w/LM Programmer.

Which gauge?

Yes I tried both with same results. Its the gauge that came with it. Regardless of what mode its in I would expect the sensor to warm up and the cal led to light up right? Neither is happening

This is how I had my LC-1 wired up:

LC1-red -> switch/fused power
LC1-blu -> battery ground
LC1-yel -> narrowband signal (if required)
LC1-grn -> narrowband return (if required)

LC1-brn -> wideband analog signal (to logger)
LC1-wht -> wideband analog return (to logger) and pushbutton/LED cathode(-)
LC1-blk -> pushbutton/LED anode(+)

( now I use EFILive serial comms instead of the wideband analog signal/return )

Have you got it in the correct polarity...?

Turn it around, and if it still does nothing, try another LED (from Radio Shack).

How would I check polarity? I removed it from the car to ship to innovate tomorrow morning. I can reinstall it if need be it only takes a second. With the lc1 out of the car the actual gauge still blinks 7.4. Is this normal?

The LED cathode is the shorter lead/leg... you can test the LED by connecting it in series with a 120ohm resistor to a two AA batteries, it should light up.

No, that is not normal, it is fubar'd.
