Default Need a tuner in Michigan!

Hey everyone, I'm about to start my procharger build ony ls1 TA, but I have not started yet because I am having a tough time finding a tuner.

I have done plenty of searching on here but seems most the places I look into are closed.

I am in north metro Detroit area and would prefer someone relatively local for for future work/problems/or questions.

I have looked into C.A.R.S in Waterford but they have been closed and Sean does part time work but is very busy.

Stenod in troy looks to be closed.

I have heard poor things about Vector.

and have no clue how to find Dr. Phil.

Any suggestions...positive and negative(with reasons to back them up) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dan

Anyone ever been to A&A racing in Davison?

Also very curious about Detroit Muscle (formerly know as Mayhem) in Burton. I've heard they have a guy named Blake Burdell(sorry for possible incorrect last name) who can get ls motors cruising pretty nice.

Oh I know. From what I've heard I'm sure he would do an amazing job. Trust me I've mapped the drive...about 3 hours.

I'm sure there has to be someone closer though who can do an awesome tune as well

Yeah they aren't too far at all that would be perfect. I've heard a lot of good and bad about them....buty main issue is they charge $750 for the tune...that seems steep to me...I expected to pay around like $400-$500 at most.

Is $750 an average price for FI tuning?

You can find the Doctor through Jakes Automotive in Sterling Heights, they'll know how to contact him. Extremely busy dude.....

You also might want to try MotorCity Speed (Billy Briggs) in Walled Lake...

Don't go to Motor City Speed. He did a rush job on my Monte and had it running worst than my mail order tune. I went to Vector but my car had some small mechanical issues at the time. Honestly, I may go back to them for WOT VE and max torque timing tuning. They did give me a dyno credit so I hope its still good (its been a few years). I bashed them awhile back but that was before I chased down those mechanical issues and my HPtuner's software. They are pricey thou.

I would not recommend Vector. I've had problems with their tunes on my car. Cost me a lot of unnecassary $$. Dr. Phil is great and is who tunes my car, but as said previously he is very busy. Shoot me a PM if you would like his contact info. Katech is located directly across the street from Vector ( I believe Vector is even in one of their buildings) and Dr. Phil still tunes the majority, if not all, of their cars. I would say expect around 4-500 tuning. Let me know if you want any other info. I've been getting my cars tuned in the metro Detroit area for 10+ years. Located in Macomb right now.

Did you deal with Kirk or Steve? I've heard a lot of bad stuff with Kirk, but I had no issues with Steve doing my tune
