Default tune vs custom tune from sponsor

Guys my car runs super rich at idle, I have a wideband on it, cruising is fine but if you sitting at a red light it is horrible the smell just so much gas being burnt I get like 7 mpg. Couple local places quoted me 550 to 650 bucks to retune or should I get a custom tune from texas speed lets say. What will be better.? What would benefit me most. My car is tuned by vette doctors now burned into the computer itself.

A tune in person is always recommended over a mail order tune. We sell and do both and even though we get a lot mail order tunes very close, a good tuner should always be able to clean up a mail order tune and make it better in person.

My only problem is I wanna clean up the tune now and the company quoted me 550 to clean it up which seems a lot. But I never had anything dyno tuned before so It could be cheap.

All I know is that with a snapon scanner hooked up, reading all cylinder misfires, it misfires at idle and as soon as you rev it a little it clears up. Its so rich its fouling out the plugs causing it to show misfires but if you rev to 1300 it clears up and no misfires are presented. Car doesn't have any cats and I don't remember what the gauge read

7mpg? Ouch,I get 16mpg in town and 21mpg hwy. 11-13mpg playing hard on it. I have a custom tune and it wasnt done on a dyno,it was done by my builders lap-top while we drove around in real world situations, normal driving and a few wot hits till we got the afr right.

I live on Long Island. Yes car sucks gas down and I have a bolt on 01 camaro and does so much better. I'm just looking to get rid of the gas smell, get rid of it using so much fuel for no reason too. No tuners on car just custom tuned by Vette doctors burned Into the computer

By the sound of it. The car needs a whole tune, just start with a stock file and go from there. You could also just have a faulty sensor causing your issue's too.
