Default new to this ls tuning

I got a 99 z28 m6 car. Just put LT headers on with cat less wye pipe. I know I need to get the car tuned to ajust for the the headers and stop kicking the engine light. Car is stock except for headers, y pipe and borla catback. Here's my questions....

Am I better off just going with a mail order tune? Or Dyno tune?

What kind of power gain should I see with either tune?

you will see 10-15 hp from having your car leaned out at WOT. Trans shifts will most likely be quickened and firmed up a bit, and the codes for EGR, AIR and rear O2's can be taken out. You will be fine with a mail order tune.

Real knowledgeable guy and he stands behind his work. He shows up at my local track occasionally and has answered a few questions for me.

There is also LSX Tuning who is a sponsor on here that can give you a mail order tune. I have never used him but he is on here helping people out all the time and knows what he is doing.

I actually have a similar question, not trying to hijack the thread. Just put long tubes, true duals with x pipe and was told it leans out the afr. Do i need some software or chip to tune that or can the stock pcm be flashed? I want to get it tuned but in the mean time do i need to worry about it running lean? It seems to run fine save for when i get on it it will occasionally backfire upon deceleration. If temp matters its about 65 degrees average over here so relatively cool.

The biggest benefit from a dyno tune is getting fueling right. A load bearing dyno allows you to accurately set VE tables (speed density). After your VE tables are good, your maf curve can be adjusted so that is also accurate. One of the down sides is a dyno tune is expensive, and further modification to your car will throw your fueling off again.

My buddy gave me come contact in for a guy close to me and I just got to get ahold of him to set up an appointment. I drove the car to the exhaust shop to clean up the y pipe I just put on. It didn't fit as good as I would of liked it. The car has lost alot of power and is not smooth as the rpms increase. Is it just needing a tune or do I have another issue

that could be a dozen different things. But if you are having problems and have an exhaust leak any where near an o2 sensor it can cause problems.
