Like the Title , just trying to varify that the newer Ballenger AFR500 is the same size as the older AFX version as far as dimensions , I use to have the AFX and had it in the little cubby hole in the console and wanted to make sure the AFR500 would fit there too , thanks guys

I am fairly certain the ballengers are not the same. The NGK ones were made by ECM.

Internally theyre the same besides small differences in display options.

I was about to repost I was wrong, but thanks you for correcting me. I have the old NTK I sent back to ECM for the afm1600 upgrade. I really like it.

how much was that upgrade? is ecm still producing widebands?

upgrade was around $200. That still make widebands.

The AFR500 is identical except in stickers to the AFX. The AFR500V2 is the same except it adds LSU 4.9 (in addition to LSU 4.2 & NTK) Sensor Compatibility. The V2 adds methanol & Lambda display options, MUCH faster analog out, a special extra wide range for turbo methanol applications, upgraded harness, etc.

All are made by ECM and have identical packaging dimensions. The only difference is that VERY early AFXs had a different case than later AFXs. The first rev was all translucent red enclosure. The second rev was a black enclosure with just a red translucent cover over the display.
