Default LS1 PCM PCB, anyone have layout/files?

Probably a long shot. Does anyone have a copy or diagram of the PCB inside of the 411 PCM? I've been toying with the idea of trying to create a daughter board but I need as much info as I can get on the PCB layout.

I'd like to see about getting a blank PCB made without any of the components to get started with. Getting a PCB made is very cheap as long as you have all of the information.

its probably 4-6 layers so its going to be quite the task reverse engineering it.
you may want to contact moates or those guys that made the dual tune mods.

what are you trying to accomplish with a daughtercard? sounds like a fun project.

I'm not worried nearly as much with the layers and circuits as I am the actual holes/solder points. I'd love to get a layout showing the location of the pins from the PCM connector, and the location of the solder points for coil/injector drivers, IAC controller, etc.

I can get a daughter board made for $28. It would allow the stock PCM to do 2-step, spark cut rev limit, flat shifting, launch control, etc.

looks like they are eol by delphi.

i found a 32 pin one but there aren't any dimensional drawings of the pcb layout.
https://ecat.aptiv.com/feature?search=12110485

this would be very easy to measure if you pop open a pcm. the side to side dimension is 3.5mm center to center so you just need to measure how far apart the rows are on the pcb.

i think if thats all you are trying to do it might make more sense to copy the way msd did their two step with connectors that plug into the coil pack harness to interrupt the coils.

Dimensional drawings would help me the most. I've got someone waiting on some info from me to make me 6 different PCBs for testing purposes, ranging from a complete replacement PCB to small addon modules.

connectors like the pcm has are always a grid that represents the other side of the connector. you will have a 2x40 grid with 3.5mm center to center between columns. you should be able to open up a pcm to measure the distance between rows. its not always the same as the distance at the connector end.

judging by this photo, id say its a square grid of 3.5mm x 3.5mm

I found a sorta diagram and had a blank board made. Then one with various pins in it for measuring purposes. I can now do whatever I want to a stock PCM.

What I do next is going to be awesome LOL.

I salute you!

But... If we had a cheap and reliable way to reflash the unmodified PCM, we could add those capabilities via software, and pretty much everybody could enjoy them...

That's how stuff gets done in the Subaru universe.

Just saying...

What I'm doing now is way way beyond that.

Unfortunately, nobody has tried to do a full custom firmware/OS that allows these things to be done on the OEM hardware. Its certainly possible, but someone needs to actually crack into the firmware. There are a few guys out there that have cracked into the OS quite a few times to push/pull data, but nothing like adding those features, yet.

keep us in the loop on your progress.
some of us might even be able to help. ive designed quite a few simple-ish boards in the past and i play with firmware often.

I should have updates in about a month. I'm working with a friend on this. He initially came up with an idea to upgrade the stock PCM that had some feasibility behind it. I decided to build on that a little and we are going to give it a shot. I just started working on it about a week ago, but I'm already covering ground in the right direction.

This is NOT a minor upgrade.

All of the features you listed are available for Subarus, plus rev-matched downshifts. I had a role in making it happen.

But I've derailed your thread enough, so I'll pipe down.

Those features make up about 1% of what I'm doing.
