I agree that I won't be able to use it. Now I need a good Bin file. Engine is a 4.8 with headers and an LS1 intake and throttle body. Pistons are flat top, so compression may be a little higher than stock. Not sure about the cam, but has trunions installed on the rockers. I am looking for a good starting point with an OS that has a detailed XDF available. Any suggestions?

ALL 4.8 pistons are flat top. They are used to gain compression in 5.3's using stock parts.

What transmission? I have several BINS here with richly featured XDF files for 5.3 L engines and 4L60E transmissions. A 4.8 L engine is tougher for me to assist you but perhaps not impossible.

The Transmission is a 700R4. Injectors are new, so I guess I'll. have to check the size..

I have downloaded 12212156 and a working XDF file. I have a used 09354896. I will use PCM Hammer to upload and save the Bin that is on the PCM. I would like to defeat the security and test run the engine. The bin I downloaded is for a 2002 5.3 truck. The engine is a 4.8 with LS1 intake. I will use TunerPro to modify the Bin and write it back to the PCM with PCM Hammer. This will be the first time I am doing this. Any comments or warnings will be appreciated.

I re-read the PCM and now PCM Hammer says it is good. In the last upload it showed as bad. Start End Stored Needed Verdict Segment Name

[04:33:56:596] 00000 7FFFD 2FD7 2FD7 Good Operating system

[04:33:56:612] 08002 12DFF B8A0 B8A0 Good Engine calibration

[04:33:56:612] 12E02 169FF 9B84 9B84 Good Engine diagnostics.

[04:33:56:612] 16A02 1B9FF 8806 8806 Good Transmission calibration

[04:33:56:627] 1BA02 1C2FF 59F3 59F3 Good Transmission diagnostics

[04:33:56:634] 1C302 1D07F 3146 3146 Good Fuel system

[04:33:56:634] 1D082 1D9FF A536 A536 Good System

[04:33:56:649] 1DA02 1DAFF 0CB0 0CB0 Good Speedometer

The OS number still comes out wrong in TunerPro. I guess I had a data error when I read it the first time. since the OS number is invalid, I remain unable to find an XDF file.

PM me and give me your email address and I will send you a good XDF file for 12212156. A file with "xdf" is not an allowable extension here.

What is the OS number that PCM Hammer displays after you click "Read Properties" while connected to the PCM?

The OS number is the same in PCMHammer. 1273010 I found a reference to it on the HPTuners website So it is valid. I will try to read it with a friends HPTuner system. If anyone has an XDF that will work with this, it would solve my problem. Right now I am starting over with a .5.3 file and trying to get it working with 36lb injectors etc.

I wonder if that oddball numbered OS is a custom operating system for 2-bar or 3-bar that somebody squirted into your PCM? Custom maybe from HP Tuners or EFI Live . . .????

HPTuners shows it as a 1 bar OS, but seems to have 2 and 3 bar versions. I want to read the injector tables to get a good starting point for modifying a stock BIn. I currently have a

.4.8 LM4 12208322 Bin Running

That link used to work. Send me a PM with a regular email address and I will send you a good XDF for 2156.

Hi all,
I just downloaded the XDF.
Link works - right click & use the save as option.

Is there a reason when I installed the 12212156, it does not have any listing for vats?

Thanks.
