06 impala ss ls4 ecm and tcm problems.

I have a 06 impala ss with the ls4. I sent both my ecm and tcm to pcm4less to get it tuned for a few bolt ons and shift points. The shipping place somehow lost my tcm. When pcm 4 less tried to hook the ecm up to time it he could get no readings out of it at all so he couldn't tune it at all. He sent my money back and the ecm. I bought a used tcm out of a 09 g6. Which is supposed to be compatible. Now the car starts, will start to drive but acts like the trans is slipping then around 40 it just revs like its in neutral. The trans was rebuilt less than 3000 miles ago and drove perfect before removing the ecm and tcm. No idea where to start at this point. Is the g6 tcm tuned differently? Does the vin have to be matched to the ecm. And why could pcm for less not access my ecm but had no trouble with my pcm for my lt1 on my 96 impala I sent him at the same time? Thanks in advance.

Some of the g6s came with 6 speed trannys.

I have a ls4 ecu and tcm. If interested pm me. I have a harness and alot of other parts as well. Tearing engine down tomorrow.

If the g6 it came from was a 6 speed would it allow it to drive at all? And also sometimes it doesn't show a square around park reverse etc. We tried to start it with just the ecm in before we found a ton and it didn't click turn over nothing.

What's your tcm and ecm out of? And how much?

06 or 07 ss impala. Cant remember exactly. Ill look around shop in a few and see if i still have them. I can tune it if needed as well.

Noooooo... the 2009 G6 TCM will not work in your 2006 impala..

the 2006 Impala is an LS4 with an E40 ECM and the 4 speed TCM/tranny.. I know, I had a 2006 LS4 car myself for 8 years/145,000 miles... and have tuned several thousands of these LS4 vehicles myself - my own included...

the 2006 ECM/TCM is different than the 2007+ ECM/TCM modules... programming is different, etc..

you need to get a 2006 TCM module for your car...

plus, the TCM has some programming in it that ties it to the ECM for the vehicle...

so.. your best bet is to take it to a dealer and get the correct stock GM TCM module for the car man...

and start over from scratch...

Ok I'm go to try to find a 06 tcm used. What about one out of a 06 impala lt or ltz? With the 4t65 trans? And why does car part say the g6 and 06 to 09 tcm all work? Would they need to be tuned to the car or just not work at all?
