Default How to get throttle open sooner at launch

According to my log my throttle doesn't go fully open until about 19 mph. Some toque management is good but would like to get it open a little sooner at launch.

I've tried raising Driver Demand and that helps but seems to get more knock retard. Is there another way?

I know it was hot. My 86* ambient was off by about 5*. It was 91* on this pass according to my DIC. Why the difference?

Sounds like it's delaying throttle to fight knock, which THEN the knock sensors catch by retarding ignition. Try higher octane gas and see if it makes a difference

I"m running Boostane with over 100 octane equivalent. Don't think it's octane as I don't see any kr at launch. Higher rpms before I recorded any kr and then it's due to too high manifold temperature. With same mixture during freeway driving with temps down I get zero kr. I feel throttle opening rate is in the tune but don't know what to change.

We have some tuning gurus around here who might chime in. Otherwise call LSX tuning. They might help you out.

Try a tune that starts with lowered timing, just to find out if the knock is real. There may be some sound the vehicle is making at launch that is being heard by the sensors as knock. This may narrow down the path to fixing this issue. I know you said you don't get any KR at launch, but 19mph probably is less than a second after launch.

Try these settings. Modified your existing file.

Increased your virtual torque values.

Thank you! I'll have to give this a try next time at the track. No traction on street to give it a try.

Hi subeone, I finally tried your file. Idle had a bad lope. When I put it in gear and started accelerating I couldn't get the car to stop. Hit the brakes and was able to get it stopped. Idle rpm came down once I got the car stopped. Maybe with my mods your file isn't going to work.

Not sure but maybe if you disable Powerhop Control under Torque Management - General - Traction Control System?

I havnt looked at your tune file. Try changing your brake torque management tables. They will shut the tb to around 50% on a hard launch. Fault it on my tbss.

Try Setting it to enable and max out the limits.

I'll give this a try. However my Brake Torque Management is already set to enable but I can max out the Brake Torque Limit table. And leave the multiplier table alone? Thanks!

If we get no rain today I'll give it a try. I have to start at about 18-19 mph in 4th gear. This seems to simulate a first gear launch but it's the only way I can hold traction on the street.

With my tbss the Pcm limited the tb to around 50% through out first gear. Once it shifted into 2nd i had full 100% wot. Made a pretty big difference once i figured it out. It did hook up better before the fix lol.

No luck with maxing out the Brake torque table. Maybe have even make throttle opening high mph. Logged 45 mph until fully open.

are u certain u have your traction control off? try disabling your fast torque exit tables and the traction control and report back.

Don't remember you mentioning disabling traction control but I can turn it off with the button. But here are my torque tables. Not sure what values would be needed.
