Default Auto tranny tuning tables

Few questions

What tables do I need to fool with to firm up and speed up shifts?

How do I pick shift points and if the shift tags the limiter in between shifts how do i combat that?

I drive an M6 so this is new to me?

TIA

What are the car MODS?

Check this thread that I started after a TC install:

Bill
I read that whole post and I think that's what I'm looking for. But I want to make sure. I have a 2000 ss with a vigalante 3000 stall and the wot shifts from 1-2 and 2-3 dont' really shift "hard" they almost like slip into gear (for lack of better words). I also have heads/cam/ls6 intake/full exhaust and the rest of the bolt-ons. I'm going to attach my base shift pressure table and if you have any ideas as to what I could do with edit it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Lightbulb

Also take a look at this thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission/210107-do-i-need-tune-w-ssf3500-trans-go-cooler.html

The line pressure increase helps the slow shifting. I also changed my shift points like the Colonel did in the above thread..

Good Luck.

My latest settings (updated for 3.42s, increasing line
pressure for better TCC holding power, etc.) I have
copied into Excel form and hosted at:

hey jimmy.

alot of your tables are way different than mine for my truck. ( mainly the A4 shift properties)

wonder why? truck settings just that much more different for any reason.

example. base shift pressure vs. torque vs. gear - performance
mine look like this (left to right) 10, 11, 13, 17 exc. in small increasing segments.

where yours start at 90

Two quick questions for you;

Your gears are 323. How would you scale the MPH for 373 gears.

Also; are the line pressure tables relavent if the 4L60E has been converted to a vac modulator?

Taphee:

I recently went up to 3.42s. That latest Excel sheet is
updated for that. If you have 3.73s you would want to
scale all of the MPH values x 0.917 (presuming you have
the same RPM limits as I do).

I'm not sure what in a vac-mod 4L60e is replaced. The
force motor relates to the load based line pressure so
maybe the vac-mod is handling all that now.

Sportside5.3:

F-bodies have "Performance" tables but they're a hoax.
I just copied them for completeness but they do nothing.
On the trucks, that is your tow-haul mode. Presumably
adding more pressure for draggin' a load, etc. You might
take my pressure table and multiply by the ratio of your
{performance/normal} or something like that, although
my pressure table represents a bump-up from stock and
is plenty firm for cars. How does your Performance table
compare to my Normal?

Your Normal:
0 2 3 5 8 12 17 21

My Performance:
10 11 13 17 21 25 29 33

takin at 1-2 shift...

Thanks Jimmy

I don't use my tow haul. You think I could copy your table to mine?

I don't have a shift kit. Assuming you don't.

You can use your tow-haul for a secondary trans
shifting "personality" and pick on the fly. I wish I
had that "handle" on my car.

So put my Normal into your Performance tables
and try it out with a press of the button.

No shift kit here. So far, so good.

JimmyBlue, Thank you.

Just for my knowledge how did you come up with that multiplier. Also, when changing the MPH,this is on all the MPH settings under shift proprties.
And, on the force motor current, your table is positve or F. Any changes on negitive or C, Lastly, if I wanted to raise the rpms to 6300 what would need to be done to the MPH.

I really appreciate your help...

Multiplier? 3.42/3.73=0.917, for a given RPM your
MPH will be that much lower with 3.73s.

I do not have a negative force motor table in my
PCM / HPTuners version. I know it exists, do not
know what it's for.

If you want to raise your shift RPM by 5% (6000 ->
6300) then you could do the same to the MPH. You
may have to adjust it based on your actual tranny
shift cycle time, converter slip, etc. if you're trying
to get it super-close based on MPH. But, since shift
happens when the last criterion clears threshold, it
doesn't matter if the MPH are a little low (MPH high
might tag the limiter once or twice before shift).
The shift RPM wants to be maybe 200RPM below rev
limiter.

Thanks again. One last question, if you don't mind. What is the best way to change the trans settings. Would it be to take your table and paste it into my settings then multiply the settings by .917 or input your settings and use the scale trans table.

Thanks again

My settings are for 3.42s and a 26.00" tire height
(GS-D3s 285/40-R17). If you are already set up
for your present gears/tires then I would just apply
the scaling table-by-table after you paste them in.
