Default HP Tuner TC tuning

How to tune the following for VIG 3200 with HP tuner?/

1- Raise lock up speed
2- Reduce/delete TM
3- Delete "trans abuse mode"

Thanks

1. Raise lockup speed, just edit the 3 -> 4 shift to a higher RPM in the lower TPS

2. Deleting TM is not recommended but heres how you do it in hptuners
A. Transmission -> A4 Shift Firmness -> Torque Reduction all zeros
B. Trans Calibration -> A4 Shift Firmness -> Upshift Torque Reduction all zeros
C. Engine -> Ignition -> Max Torque Set to 800,
D. Engine -> Ignition -> Torque Reduction all zeros

3. You can eliminate abuse mode by setting it to RPMs > 7000, Speed < 0 as long as your rev limiter is lower then 7000

Have a look at the Excel sheet link in the recent
Auto trans tables thread. All of that I have done
(though, for 3.42s and a TCI3000). Probably a
not-so-bad place to start, though, if you adjust for
the gears and RPM proper for your setup.

what i noted (what im gonna try when my hptuners arrives-probably tomorrow). is this...

Engine
Max engine torque vs gear to 640
(1279 will yield same result as 640)

Max engine torque constant to 640
enter abuse mode test > 8000
enter abuse mode test < 1

Automatic Trans
Trans abuse mode enabled "no"
Torque reduction vs Torque vs Shift tables to Zero

any comments/corrections are welcome...

make sure you have a shift kit, and when the tranny goes buh bye, don't be mad

keep the fluid clean, and an eye on the trans temps always bro. Give your trans half a chance

I got a FLP Stage 4 (vacuum modulated) will the above still apply?

I would expect (but don't know details) FLP has
already done either a shift kit, or the rework that
a shift kit would, on the "Level 4" transmission.
With it being vacuum modulated I think the PCM
is only used for shiftpoints / lockup, and the PWM
signals for shift/hold clutch and TCC pressure are
replaced by the vac-mod.

In my experience, at my power levels, the shift
kit has not been needed, I have adequate cycle
times and pressure to hold against engine torque
and a 2.2:1 STR converter, with proper settings
(though those took me some tries to get to, esp.
the TCC needed several things in the pressure chain
revised for low- to mid-load pressure profile).

But the cooler, for sure, and go big.

yeah the lower cooler thermostat and fan programming in summer helps a bunch on top of the cooler too

those wimpy transcoolers ones most of the folks sell ---> are too small imo. after hotlapping you'll see what i mean. If you are going to hotlap it hot, run a good synthetic or swap the fluid out after the drag event. 220+ is way too borderline for dino trans oil for longevity
