Don't really know much about standards. See if this helps.

with the key on and connector disconnected at the clutch switch check
for 12 volts on the gray wire and check to see that black/white wire goes
to ground-if both good and you are sure switch opens and close then check
clutch switch adjustment--switch is a normally closed switch--so when
clutch pedal is not depressed switch should be closed. Hope this helps --its been my experience that the switch is out of adjust.

it is just supposed to send a ground signal to the pcm when the petal is out, and when pressed leaves the circuit open, correct?,

I am not familiar with that code, but there are some detailed diagnostic steps listed here:

no from the diag that I am looking at pcm has 12volt signal on gray wire and
when switch is closed when pedal is up voltage signal is pulled down because
blk/wht wire leads to grnd. And when pedal is depressed switch opens and
voltage goes high-I just read wait4me's post again and sounds like you are
saying the same thing

Just out of curiosity, is this code for the clutch safety switch (the one that prevents you from starting the car without depressing the clutch) or is it the clutch switch at the top of the travel used to deactivate the cruise control when you depress the clutch. I am asking because I plan on deleting both of these switches in the near future (actually I have already deleted the start safety switch). I plan on disconnecting the cruise control one and using that switch for a nitrous activation switch so that it will deactivate the N2O whenever the clutch is pressed.

?? i wouldnt trust a switch like that with a motor,... But thats just me i guess, its not real accurate, and dissingages slow. on the switch, yes it it the other switch, not the one the prevents it from starting,

Yea, I guess I should have been a little more specific... I actually plan to remove that switch, but use that bracket to mount a different switch in its place. In any event that switch would have to go and I had no idea it was interfaced with the computer. I hardly ever use the cruise control anyway and when I do I usually switch it off as soon as I start to slow down anyway, besides the brake will also disengage it so loosing the clutch disengagement function does not bother me, but having a constant code does. If I were to splice the gray to the blk/wht wire would that fool the computer into thinking the clutch was always up allowing use of the cruise control and preventing the code, or would I need to add a resistor in there or something to prevent it from shorting out the 12 volts from the gray wire.
