Default Car Failed Smog after ATI and Tunning Install

I had my car smogged before I put in my ATI P series supercharger and it passed. However, today, I had a pre-test done on my car, and it failed big time. It failed the HC, CO, and NO tests.

What can I do? I assume it is the rich tunning (11.5:1). Should I put the stock injectors back in and then put a stock tune in?

Thanks for the help!

James

very odd, have a tuner scan your car and go from there, something definitely doesnt sound right.

are you running static timing like you sig says? if so it will probaly fail, you need lots more timing down low

No, the timing peaks at 17.5 deg. It is in the high 30s at idle and part throttle.

Is it possible that it is tuned at 11.5:1 accross the board, instead of at WOT?

Thanks

You just need it checked over.Maybe it was tuned open loop which will make it too rich. You would know because your gas mileage will totally suck.Idle timing should be around 20-26 degree's,not 30.Part throttle/cruising should be around 38-40 degree's.

E-Tune (Mike Morgan) tuned the car; however, he no longer is in business.

Results
15 mph - HC Max allowable 50 I measured 143
25 mph - HC Max allowable 34 I measured 95

15 mph - CO% Max allowable .48 I measured .63
25 mph - CO% Max allowable .45 I measured .52

15 mph - NO Max allowable 414 I measured 653
25 mph - NO Max allowable 701 I measured 500

Does somebody have a HP Tuners file that will be a better tune? I have 42# injectors and a Granatelli MAFS, and long tubes with Random Cats.

Thanks again for all the input!

you're gonna need to supply some log files and your present .bin before people can write you up a file that will help.

It certainly sounds like an O/L tune. If your car is not in C/L and the tuner richened things up even a little from stoich you will never pass emissions.

What were the emissions results prior to blower? Did you change anything other than the blower and tune? The RT cats do not catalyze unburned HC as well as the stock OEM's. Probably due to less backpressure and better flow.

Was your exhaust HOT? With the RT cats back there, they will cool off fast when idle and allow HC through.

Do you know what your manifold pressure is at 2000 rpms? The reason I ask is that if its not boosting yet, you can eliminate it as your problem and focus on the tune.

Also, what was the reading at idle? 15ppm co2?

Do you have HP Tuners? If so, would you please look at my log files (test run 1 and test run2) at www.trackn.net/download.htm.

Retuned yesterday and got LTFT's .78 to 5.5.

After retuning yesterday, I had it retested today, and it still failed but not as bad.

CO2 15 MPH 12.9 and 25 MPH13.5
O2 15 MPH 2.1 and 25 MPH 1.4

15 MPH HC max allowable 50. results 126
25 MPH HC max allowable 34. results 51

15 MPH CO max allowable .48. results .58
25 MPH CO max allowable .45. results .46

15 MPH NO max allowable 414. results 588
25 MPH NO max allowable 701. results 356

Should I just put the stock cam back in? Is my cam the biggest problem for emissions (overlap)?
