Default Should we create a Wiring (working title) Forum?

Should we create a forum for just wiring, ie. wiring up gauges, but not stereo stuff?

Sure, I'll moderate it if you need somebody to.

I think Electrical in general, non-audio electronics
might fit here too. Charging and lighting systems,
power accessories, harness and connector info, that
kind of stuff.

I don't think it's necessary.

It would be good to try it out and if it doesn't work, remove it

Can't hurt. Would probably make for some good topics in my opinion.

Not necessary since the topics about wiring could just be in the same forum as the equipment that the wiring is for (as it's been so far), but it could be useful to have a separate forum for it all together (I voted Yes)

Two things I'm curious about...

Would this include fuses, lights, and miscellaneous 'mysterious' electrical problems? I know I've seen a number of threads about that stuff

What is usually done when a new forum is created here-- are most of the old threads that're obviously about the new forum's topic moved into it, or are they just left wherever they were first posted?

My suggestion for a Forum Title would be Electrical Systems, Wiring and Accessories. I'll be glad to help out by participating in the forum as I am an electronics engineer and a former fulll time mechanic.

All my best,

Steve Bryant

I am for it. I have had two problems that were wiring related and had to post in multiple forums to get some answers.

You helped me with one a while back PSJ!

There are alot of questions about Battery relocation, Wiring up Gauges, Harlan two steps and other accesories.

Its alot easier to use the search feature when you can go to a specific forum and search that forum in particular

I vote yes! I have a mysterious electrical problem right now I would like to figure out. I have had a clicking right behind my glove box for quite some time now with the ignition on.

not sure why it happens but probably clicking from the BCM... when I was helping Silverghost a few weeks back... we noticed a clicking when the key was in the ignition in the run position... he felt around and it was coming from the BCM... every 45 seconds or so

How about a tutorial guide...link!

Would save hours of moderating, and reduce database volume.

Maybe this is normal? Not sure what it is called but it is coming from an electrical box right behind the glove box. With the glove box out I can feel the clicking with my hand on it. What does BCM stand for?

I think it fits in this forum here. I mean anyone using a aftermarket PCM will probably be doing some wiring and they will be posting in this forum, it all kind of goes together IMO.
