Default ProScan OBD-II / Dyno / Quarter Mile Analysis Tool - $99 GP!!!

Hello everyone!

I'm a long-time member and new sponsor of this forum. Being a computer engineer, I started developing an analysis tool for my 2000 Camaro a few years back. At the time I refused to pay a few hundred more dollars for Autotap or another scan tool after I had just shelled out $550 for LS1 Edit. (I'm sure some of you can definitely relate...)

Now I have started a business, Gore Research, and have turned ProScan into the most cost effective automotive analysis tool in existence. Finally, you can have a fully-featured OBD-II scan tool, dyno, and timeslip generator AND SAVE MONEY for the real mods!!!

Please see the group purchase offer that I just posted in the Specials & GP forum. You can have ProScan for just $99 shipped to your door! Yes... $99! It is not a typo!

The official web site is: http://www.MyScanTool.com

I look forward to supporting this forum and helping out my fellow LS1 lovers! Thanks to everyone for making this such a great resource!

Is this just software for a laptop, or is it a self-contained unit?

Do you have a list of parameters that it can scan? Or does it do all of them?

My brother bought autotap for his car but didn't buy it with the enhanced parameters, when he tried logging he couldn't log Knock Retard and a bunch of other items... but this may just be a ploy by autotap to make more money?

I'm interested! Need to know what different parameters it can scan though

ProScan supports all OBD-II generic parameters, but manufacturer-specific sensors are not supported at this time. Unfortunately, knock retard is not supported. (that's the only sensor that I hate not having access to)

Currently, a laptop is required... or you could get 25' of cable and use a desktop in your garage!

I do have a primitive version for Palm OS, but I can't offer support for it at this time. A Windows CE version should be available in the coming month or two as well.

Thanks!

Other manufacturers use those parameters, GM uses the crappy narrowband O2 Sensors

Will this software export to a CSV file?

You are correct about the O2 sensors. GM uses the narrow band sensors.

Yes, you can log sensor data to a CSV or XML data file for custom processing.

Thanks!

Using the ELM chipset it is very limited in the number of frame/sec it can handle. It also cannot handle any of the dynamic packet modes or block transfer modes. For the price it is a ok deal if you want a general scan tool without the GM Enhanced PIDS. But this limits you to a low number of PIDS considering there are over 200+ PIDS available and about 100+ for just the Camaro's/Corvettes. I would go with EFI Live or another tool if you are looking for a GM specific tool.

You can expect around 10 updates per second, but this will vary by vehicle. ProScan allows you tweak the interface's timing to get max bandwidth for each vehicle you analyze.

While ProScan does not support GM Enhanced PIDs at this time, ProScan still packs the most bang for the buck. If you need a scan tool specialized for your vehicle, then you will need to spend 4 or 5 times the price of ProScan. But if all you need is a nice scan tool with plenty of features that will work not only with your Camaro but with other vehicles as well, then ProScan is definitely what you need.... and you'll be able to keep a lot of money in your pocket.

Thanks.

Every ProScan kit includes all of the following:
* 6-foot OBD-II cable
* electrical interface for GM vehicles
* 6-foot serial cable
* ProScan software on CD-ROM
* 30-day money-back satisfaction guarantee
* unlimited support
* free software upgrades for life!

This is everything that you will need to analyze any GM vehicle 1996 and newer with your laptop. The only exception is if your laptop does not have a 9-pin serial port, you will require a USB to Serial converter. I also have them at a very low price on my web site at www.MyScanTool.com ($19.99).

Thanks,

Can u buy just the OBDII cable and software and log off that or do I need to get both the kit for the dodge and gm cars? Why?

Hi,
You cannot use just the OBD-II cable to use ProScan on a vehicle. If you hook your laptop directly to your vehicle's 12-volt system, then you will fry your serial port controller or even worse... your laptop!

The difference in voltage levels and communication protocols is why you need the appropriate electrical interface to sit inbetween your laptop and the vehicle.

Thanks,
David

Any word on the winCE version of this? It would be a MAJOR selling point for me!
