Default questions about idle airflow with cam...

ok well i am looking at my log and its showing almost 4ms on the pulse width, when the car is warm its only 2.2-2.4ms. idle adapt is almost +10 around 70-80*F and then it goes down pretty quickly. once the car gets lower its ok, i think i have to redo my IAC effective area with the ported tb and the filler in it. that may be effecting things at cold start.

why are my injectors pulse widths so high? i figured they should be a little bit lower than that even if it was cold. and when i am doing the idle airflow tables, say at 76* in the table i have 10 g/sec but the adapt is +.56 g/sec, does that mean i should add about .56 and make it 10.56 g/sec at 76*? let me know guys, thanks

well it is going to add more fuel at cold idle because cold engines don't evaporate fuel as well........this is where a wideband is needed to see just how rich it is.......

you "should" adjust the IAC effective table to relate to the larger TB hole but that is for adjusting "cruse controle effect/slow idle return".....

are you actually having "problems" (surge/hard to crank/run on/etc.)?

idle is at 800, it is getting better, my deisred and actual numbers were off more than i thought, i lined up the IAC values in the effective area table and its a lot better now. its a 6 speed too

High idle MAP makes you index up on the Open Loop
Fuel Air table to some pretty high enrichment, making
pretty high pulse widths. Once you get hot and hit
closed loop the enrichment is gone.

Have you done anything with a wide band O2 yet? The VE table is probubly off so the computer is starting with an incorrect fuel table and then having to lean out in closed loop (which it can't do in open loop).

oh well.......one must do their best.......

LTrims will get the job done but once you get yourself a wideband you will say "how did I ever tune without this...."
