Default need advise on what to use to tune my 98 Ls1

I have a 98 LS1 Camaro that I am currently installing a single turbo on. I am aiming for around 800rwhp. What do you guys recommend for tuning that is most affordable and most capable? Thanks for your help.

you have edit and hptuners for a custom tuning for 98 cars at this time. Both can probaly do the job fine, but look into the licensing, and one will be more cost effective, if you have any friends who have a compatible car.

Good luck on tuning a 800rwhp on the 98 comptuer, unless you have way to make the maf read that much airflow, it is not easy to do.

Why do you say that it is very difficult? What about using Megasquirt along with LS1 edit or Hptuners?

Does anybody think that it is a good idea to use HPtuners with Megasquirt?

use megasquirt for the fueling and keep stock computer for igntion/auto trans control, use tuners to change ignition as needed. seems to work well for Parish.

parish clipped the leeds to the injectors and wired them to megasquirt, and hooked up the required sensors for megasquirt.

megasquirt runs standalone to the stock computer.

If the maf companies out there would actually build a maf to support higher horsepower, then it would be the logical way to go, unfortunately, they just make a maf to make power, not support more power, so your stuck with gm units, or modified units with resistors to allow more airflow.

The current GM maf comapnies instead create "trickery" maf's that just lean the car out, causing less fuel and more timing. Basically garbage after you have a tune, since all the same can be done correctly with tuning software.

If somebody would build a maf that would support 1000 g/sec, it would be perfect for the FI guys, but nobody builds one to my knowledge.

HP tuners has said they would not support the 98 cars for speed density boost tuning.

So do you guys think that hptuners is the best tuner out there? Has anyone modified the maf to support more power? What would be the advantage to using BS3 over megasqirt and hptuners? Thanks for the help
