6.0L 2000 truck starting hard when hot/warm
I find this to be an odd problem, but I'm sure someone will know exactly what's causing it. My 2000 3/4 ton Chevy with 6.0L (70k miles) starts easy and normal when cold. After letting the truck run until up to temp I can shut it off and restart normally too. But when I let it sit for around 10 min or longer (still hot or warm) it cranks for several seconds before it starts and when it does start it will die unless I rev the motor, then its fine. It starts like this until the motor is completely cooled down. While running it is a little rough at idle but other than that it seems to run fine. Any ideas... Thanks guys! Roy

Possible causes: marginal crank sensor and/or cam sensor.
On my V6, when crank sensor was in the right temp range, it produced no signal, causing no start until it cooled down; plugs and injectors are tiggered [indirectly via PCM] by the crank sensor.

I found the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. Can you check or clean the IAC valve or just replace it? WOW they are 112 buck for that little sensor/valve. Thanks...
Joecar, it starts good at all temps but only if it's been running in the last few minutes. If I let it sit for over 10 minutes it starts hard (but will start) then starts good again when completely cold. I don't think this would be the result of a temp sensitive sensor. Thanks for the feedback though...

Fixed it tonight. It was the fuel pressure regulator. $59.99 for that little tiny regulator. But its worth it to fix the problem. I wonder if I'll see any mileage or performance gains... Thanks for the help! Roy

Was there fuel in the regulator's vacuum line, is that what it was...?

joecar, yes there was fuel in the vac line and replaceing the fuel pres reg fixed the problem.
BTW, no increase in mileage. Just starts easier and idles smoother at idle, but I'm sure glad...
