I like the new structure, while the old model year and type license would have worked for me, I only need this package for myself. Now I will be able to license 4 completely disparate vehicles right off the bat. HPT have not said this but I suspect the majority of their customer base in it the same boat I am, wanting to tune their own cars primarily.

I think this new pricing structure will be more beneficial for most... many people only buy the software for their car... maybe a buddies car ... they have no intention of tuning multiple cars and often those that do tune multiple cars are doing so for $$$ ...
w/8 licenses... being able to tune an LS2 and 2 LS1s or 4 LS1s, or 2LS2s etc... offers alot more options...
Plus as stated, now if you only need 1 license... you don't need to setup everything you need up front... then if you sell your car... you'd still have credits left on the cable so ANYONE can use it on their car...

The weekend tuner is the hardest to cater for because people's perception of "expensive" varies so much. A weekend tuner who tunes a few cars will most likely stick with the year/model scheme, but the guy who only tunes here and there will more likely go for the single vehicle scheme.
As you can imagine, it's tough to cater for absolutely every situation but i think the new licensing structure is our best attempt in the last 2 years

So when I upgrade to the new USB/EIO, will the new credit structure apply?
Man, I wish this system was in place when I initially ordered. As of now, I have 2 year/model licenses (one for a vehicle I don't even own), and what I really need is 2 locked licenses...

If you have a serial interface and already have 4 vehicle types.. your next LS1 vehicle type would be $399 as would all after right?
Well, if you upgrade to the MPVI USB interface, all your new year/model LS1 licenses would be $299 saving you $100 on each year/model license you use!

and then for future license additions, you use the credit system.

So since I allready paid for this long awaited interface,If I wanted the pro I would have to pay the difference? And Since I have the tunershop package and I would need to tune a 05 GTO thats I just put headers and a cam in I would just need to buy credits? And how many would I need.

All our credit prices for year/model vehicles are listed on our orders page.
If your order has not shipped out yet and you ordered a MPVI Std interface but want the MPVI Pro, you can simply pay the difference to receive the MPVI Pro with your order.

So just to clarify for upgrades... website says:
Interface Upgrades:
Serial Std/EIO to MPVI Std - $149
Serial Std/EIO to MPVI Pro - $199
MPVI Std to MPVI Pro - $289
Does this mean Serial Std (no EIO) to MPVI Pro is $199?

It does appear to be a nice pricing structure, you don't get as much, if you want to lock your cable to 2 unlimited vehicle types in the initial purchase, as you did before, but as most people just need thier car, and lock 2 credits for your car, it can give you more range to tune friends cars for a few $$ to recover your investment.
Quesiton, I didn't see answered, Lets use a 6 credit unlimited example, if you lock the package to 3 vehicles at 2 credits a piece, all in the same category, does it enable you to get the unlimited for those 6 credits being used? Or do you have to consider that when you spend the credits at the beginning?
Not trying to start trouble, just curious.

i like it except for a couple of things. you started off the old way with 2 unlimited vehicles. so this way should start off with 12 credits. and the ls2 stuff is a little high. ok so your the first to have it but to charge 333% more than a ls1 vehicle? i could honestly see charging 12 credits for it but not 20. just my 2 cents
