Question Why the difference in these 2 Open Loop FA Tables

I just recently aquired a 2005 Silverado SS LQ9 A4 HPT file to check out. (Might be buying one, but a crew cab, non SS)

I was comparing that file to my file and noticed a few tables that were different.

The Open Loop Fuel Air tables are way different, why? I know one is a 5.7L and the other a 6.0L, but why would they be that much different?

I know other people have brought up before that we should modify this table to reduce the exhaust smell on a cold start especially if we added a cam which will put you in a different/higher/richer MAP range than a stock cam would.

After comparing the 2 files, it seems that the 6.0L truck OLFA should work better for us head and/or cam guys.

What do you guys think?

These 2 are the 5.7L LS1 OLFA Table:

These 2 are the 6.0L LQ9 OLFA Table:

Open loop is Open loop, especially on a cold start, not moving.

Maybe a HP Tuner or EFI Live guy could chime in and help give an explanation...

hey billum...really its just a calibration for all the thing in the vehicle...it should vary between vehicles..especially a modded one

you can calibrate your own with a wieband...
I have a writeup that will be in the HPT help file on the next release, and hopefully I will find some time to put it down in the forums soon as well....

Not in this case, the 6.0L and the 5.3L are the same. GM must have a reason to have a different/leaner OLFA.

This is from a 2005 Stock 5.3L A4:

I think GM is just retarded, look at the stuff they do
to the PE delay / rate as well. I'm guessing that they
prefer to run low enrichment and low spark to get a
better heavy-load fuel economy, and screw performance.

more evidence gm is retarded is that the 4.3 from an s-10 calibration is more similar to a camaro/firebird LS1 then the 3.8ltr calibration in the camaro/firebird is.
