Default 6500RPMs on Stock ls1

Can i run 6500rpms on Stock ls1. Only mods are 4.10s,Vigilante 3000,ASP Underdrive Crank Pulley,SLP lid,Kooks 1 7/8 LTs,GMMG and TNT Nitrous F1 kit. Thought it would run a little better 1/4mi with more rpm. Especially with my 4.10s,thought about upping the nitrous window switch to 6200 or 6400 and the redline to 6500. Possible? Currently running 6100 or 6200. Window switch set at 5800. Runs 12.3s@108 N/A and 11.2s@119 on spray. What do you guys think? Thanks

you should upgrade springs and pushrods of your going to rev that high otherwise you'll get valve float quickly followed by some bent push rods. and i'm not sure what kind of power you N2O makes up top but most stock LS1 heads especially with stock cam probably won't make power that high up. i believe they usually die off around 6k maybe a little before.

No reason to run the engine above the stock limiters. The stock cam falls off above 5200 rpm and running the engine to 6500 will slow you down or cause mechanical problems. Once you upgrade the springs and cam, then you can push to 6800 rpm.

ls6 valves, springs, and cam get rid of both valvefloat and power dropping off past 6000rpm, without losing any reliability. throw in a set of heads and you're adding extra power. shifting higher is mandatory for making decent power, as lazy gearing combined with very top-end happy nature of ls1 makes you drop to some rather dismal (~180rwhp@3000rpm in stock powered A4) power levels.

97-00 cars are safe to 6500, 01-up cars are safe to 6900 due to the new rod bolts. This is courtesy of both GM Race engineers and Katech durability engineers.

I'm running my street LS2 (cold air and corsas) to 6900 all of the time, and no float at all.

7000RPM limit here. No problems. Stock bottom end and 250+ track runs. Loves it, and I give it heaps.
