This is the biggest news in tuning in a long time and a true deal. I have procrastinated in purchasing the 1 bar SD package but i will be upgrading and take advantage of the RTT.

How about a new thread with some tuning experiences with the live features? Great to hear how useable it is on the street. Or is it strictly a dyno proposition?
I guess idle is nice and easy.

I too would like to congratulate you guys on a nice release. Like TA said, I won't be one to try and rain on the parade. I do have a few questions though that I haven't seen asked. These are real questions and I am not trying to start anything.

1) How fast are the changes
2) What happens if the car dies while you are tuning in RTT? You come to a light and it dies cause it isn't set properly yet. Do you lose what you have just done?
3) How many tables can you change at once (I think I seen 4).

very useable on the street..though I suggest you pull over to make changes or at a minimum get out of traffic and onto a slow moving side street....

I go to the passenger seat & tune people...
finished all of my RTT tunes in less than 2 hours each so far....
sooooooo much easier and better than before...

in an upcoming release you will be able to let the laptop do all the work for you...just drive and let Auto tuning for RTT do its job...
the car will magically feel better and better the more you drive it if you set your parameters correctly

1. instant as far as I know
2. not exactly sure
3. depends on the mode your in...the larger the table the more ram it consumes for instance one mode is VE-MAF-SPARK-PE but then I believe the idle one has like 6-8 tables you can edit at once.

That means RTT is available with the old school serial cable?

changes are reasonably quick...
I did a copy and paste of an entire VE table..it changes one cell at a time in left to right top to bottom book reading style...took me about 40 seconds to copy over 380 cells..LOL

if teh car dies your PCM is still on...it remember everything you do until you turn off the car completely
table amount varies depending on which stuff is commanded...
right now I see 4 differerent modes...adn I can do anywhere from 3 to 8 tables on the four opptions for my car...

but theres 8 slots so on other vehicles it may be possible to have all 8 filled with something as well...
again its all predetermined..you dont randomly pick tables to add..
they are pre determined tables and you selectr 1 of four options to pick the tables you need...

The tables we can access to tune are the only ones you will really ever need. Biggest pain is on the dyno having to shut the car down. That is not needed anymore, nor is a PCM swap. These guys have set the tables up nicely so you can do your idle in one shot and then swap right over to the driving stuff. This is going to save a lot of people time and money.

For those interested, here is a screen shot with all tables you can adjust under that mode listed in the RTT window. Dont worry about the -9 in the overspeed table, that isnt whats in the car lol

Real Time Tuning starting at only $499 & they give you enough credits that you'll have enough left over to tune 2 more cars

Thanks for the answers. So it isn't instant then? You still have to wait for it to populate the tables? None the less, nice job.

Nice job guys,

How many tables are you able to edit?

The only thing I don't like is the need for a custom OS. With the road runner you are able to access every table in the PCM and on top of that they have it working for 98-04 LS1 PCM's Diseil and other trucks... no custom OS needed. I've actually got mine working wirelessly with bluetooth because I didn't want any cables in my vette.

Yes and no. It only needs to make changes to the cells you are working with, not the entire table. So its instant if you are modifying an area the engine is actually using, or a few seconds if you want to load an entire new table.

You can highlight a cell/area and hit the +/- keys to make changes, or copy paste the histogram.

All of the changes stay there until key off (PCM hard reset).
